We invest in our people for the long term and are committed to supporting their development at every stage of their career.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork closely with leaders across Finance to ensure investment accounting activities necessary to close the company’s books are performed in a timely, efficient, and well controlled manner<ul><li>Responsible for supporting the investment accounting and reporting on a US GAAP, US Statutory and Bermuda Statutory basis for Athene USA</li><li>Preparations of quarterly and annual reporting for consolidated US GAAP (10Q &amp; 10K) and unconsolidated US Statutory filings (quarterly and annual footnote disclosures and investment schedules)</li><li>Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of investment data to GL for applicable bases of accounting</li><li>Review of investment portfolio activity in the ePAM accounting system using proprietary data warehouse and reporter (ARCHIE)</li><li>Prepare and post journal entries as needed within the close and reconciliation process.</li><li>Liaise with front office and upstream accounting and operations teams to resolve investment data issues</li><li>Assist with all other SEC reporting requirements and respond to Investor/Analyst questions and comments</li><li>Support internal and external audit requests</li><li>Proactively seek to improve existing processes in order to meet new requirements and/or improve operational reliability and efficiency</li><li>Successfully manage the control environment related to Investment Accounting, maintaining/enhancing Investment Accounting process documentation and provide support internal and external audit requests.</li><li>Support the financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators related to annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and analysis against actual results.</li><li>Provide regular updates to investment accounting management keeping them abreast of any issues, shortcomings, or accomplishments of the team.</li><li>Stay abreast of market conditions, investment strategies, the changing accounting literature and regulatory guidance to ensure compliance in accounting and reporting.</li><li>Other relevant projects and tasks, as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>3-5 years of accounting or analysis experience required</li><li>Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required</li><li>Experience preparing and presenting financial reports is strongly desired</li><li>Proven ability to multi-task and adjust quickly in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to change priorities to meet critical deadlines</li><li>Ability to work independently on assignments of various levels of complexity with minimal direction</li><li>Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial accounting regulations preferred</li><li>Knowledge of alternative investment and applicable accounting guidance preferred</li><li> PAM for Investments (PFI), Blackline or other investment accounting systems strongly desired</li></ul>OUR PURPOSE AND CORE VALUESOur clients rely on our investment acumen to help secure their future.
