Then keep reading - you’ve come to the right place.<h2>Role Description</h2>The Test Engineering team at Form is responsible for testing, operating, and maintaining our full-scale system prototypes. We're looking for an experienced field technician to join our team in Oakland, CA, with as-needed support at the Form Factory in Weirton, WV, and help us bring our groundbreaking battery system to life.In this role, you will be a key member of the Test Engineering team, working closely with engineers to install, commission, test, operate, and troubleshoot the electrical and mechanical systems in our fielded prototypes. This is a unique opportunity to use your technical skills to solve real-world problems and contribute to the development of a new product at the cutting edge of clean technology.<h3>What you'll do:</h3><ul style=""><li>Support installation, commissioning, and operations for Form’s fielded battery system prototypes.</li><li>Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems to identify and resolve root causes.</li><li>Conduct wiring and assembly of industrial control, power, and data acquisition circuitry.</li><li>Execute test plans to characterize the performance and functionality of battery systems under the direction of engineers.</li><li>Support Form’s first responder program to minimize energized downtime.</li><li>Travel up to 50% to prototype sites within the U.S., with a home base at the Oakland, CA test site.</li></ul><h3>What you'll bring:</h3><ul style=""><li>7+ years of hands-on experience as a field technician working with high-power equipment; experience with battery or solar systems is a plus.</li><li>Proficient in troubleshooting complex electrical issues in high-voltage systems and able to read electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.</li><li>Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including CAN Bus and Modbus, for system-level debugging.</li><li>Highly safety-conscious with training in high-voltage risk assessment, safety protocols, and experience working around heavy construction equipment.</li><li>Comfortable with frequent and long-term wear of heavy PPE (steel-toed boots, face shields, chemical suits, etc.) as required.</li><li>Physically able to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.</li></ul>#LI-Onsite#LI-JM2Humanity is a cornerstone of Form Energy’s culture, and we make sure our compensation and benefits reflect that.
