The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.</div>The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products to ensure conformance with specifications. Including identifying deficiencies and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues.Accountabilities:<ul><li>Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing</li><li>Setting up, adjusting, and operating inspection equipment, ensuring accuracy and proper functioning</li><li>Inspecting commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), electronic assemblies, castings, and machined components for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with drawings and specifications</li><li>Inspecting work in progress and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards</li><li>Conducting audits of inspection records and processes to verify compliance with applicable policies and procedures</li><li>Preparing and processing inspection paperwork and maintaining accurate records</li><li>Identifying and quarantining non-conforming products</li><li>Creating Quality Notifications (QN) and distributing for resolution</li><li>Training new employees and mentor less-experienced Quality professionals</li><li>Serving as a liaison with production teams and management to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and foster a quality-focused environment</li><li>Participating in project teams to address manufacturing or quality issues</li><li>Contributing to process improvements, reducing cycle times, and enhancing efficiency</li><li>Assisting in the calibration process for inspection equipment</li><li>Conducting and documenting FAIs</li><li>Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines as well as company policies and procedures</li></ul>Must have the ability to:<ul><li>Read and interpret blueprints and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing</li><li>Analyze quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions</li><li>Effectively communicate findings, document issues, and collaborate with others</li><li>Lift, stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time</li><li>Lift or lower items weighing &lt; 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts &lt; 42lbs (19kg)</li></ul>Required Skills/experience:<ul><li>5+ years of Quality Inspector experience OR equivalent experience</li><li>Solid understanding of relevant quality standards and regulations</li><li>Experience using carious inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gauges, and vision systems)</li><li>Skilled using root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, 5Ws, Ishikawa)</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Expert knowledge of Hitachi Rail products</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP Enterprise Software</li></ul>Desired skills/experience:<ul><li>Associates Degree in Engineering OR equivalent military experience</li><li>CMM Certification</li></ul>Education:High school diploma or GEDLanguage: English proficiencyBenefits: Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short &amp; Long Term Disability, Life &amp; Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
