Your mission As part of VIDA’s ambitious growth journey, you will join as a Business Development Representative to help scale our climate portfolio. By strengthening relationships with key donors, partners, and clients - and driving our ability to win more opportunities - you will play a vital role in expanding VIDA’s impact in the climate space. Your resonsibilities: Lead generation <ul><li>Use tools such as DevelopmentAid to identify new climate-related opportunities for VIDA.</li><li>Develop opportunities through conversations with donors and partners.</li><li>Qualify leads by assessing needs, budgets and alignment with VIDA’s climate work.</li></ul>Market intelligence <ul><li>Track developments in the climate sector, including new programmes, funding streams and donor priorities.</li><li>Monitor competitor activities to identify gaps in the market.</li></ul>Partnerships <ul><li>Track the activities of potential partners, including engineering firms and other consultancies active in climate risk, resilience and adaptation.</li><li>Prepare outreach materials (slide decks, one-pagers, and tailored emails) to support engagement with prospective partners.</li><li>Engage directly with potential partners to explore collaboration opportunities.</li><li>Help maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective partners through regular communication and follow-up.</li><li>Support the development of partnership agreements and contributions to joint proposals.</li></ul>Pipeline management and reporting <ul><li>Keep VIDA’s CRM (HubSpot) accurate and up to date, ensuring climate opportunities are well-tracked and visible to the wider BD team.</li><li>Report on the outcomes of climate-related proposals and tenders.</li></ul>Proposal development and bid support <ul><li>Write and coordinate technical and financial proposals for climate-focused clients such as the Global Center for Adaptation, Green Climate Fund, World Bank and other key donors.</li><li>Work with VIDA’s Data Solutions and Product teams to gather technical inputs for climate projects.</li></ul>Content and materials development <ul><li>Prepare tailored business development materials (slide decks, one-pagers, case studies) highlighting VIDA’s climate work.</li><li>Keep materials current by updating information on VIDA’s climate portfolio, geographic reach and recent project successes.</li></ul> Is it you we’re looking for? <ul><li>You hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, climate studies, geography, international development, or public policy. A Master’s degree is preferred, but not essential if you bring sufficient sector experience.</li><li>You bring at least 2 years of professional experience, with direct exposure to business development.</li><li>You have strong knowledge of climate-related topics, including but not limited to physical climate risk, adaptation, and resilience.</li><li>You are familiar with international climate processes and frameworks (e.g., NDCs, COP, climate finance mechanisms).</li><li>You understand climate hazard data and geospatial information.</li><li>You have engaged with donors and stakeholders in the climate resilience and adaptation space (e.g., GCA, GCF).</li><li>You have a track record of securing new opportunities through tenders or direct procurement, and are familiar with donor procurement cycles and funding processes.</li><li>You can write and speak confidently about topics such as climate risk, adaptation, and resilience for different audiences.</li><li>You bring strong communication and relationship-building skills with strategic partners.</li><li>You are able to persuade and influence effectively to position VIDA in key conversations.</li><li>You are comfortable working across different geographies and cultural contexts.</li></ul>Our team is spread accross Europe and Africa, and we are looking for a new team member based in Germany or within a ±2 hour time zone difference.
