In this role, you will work alongside senior developers and engineers to help develop, maintain, and deploy cutting-edge cloud-based solutions for scaling power systems engineering processes. You will have opportunities to work with the latest technologies and contribute to a growing portfolio of products that are helping shape the future of power system.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Principal Duties and Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Collaborate with the software team to design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based software solutions for the energy sector.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.</li> <li>Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment.</li> <li>Work with cutting-edge technologies like Python, React, Typescript, Java, Kotlin, Docker, and Kubernetes.</li> <li>Contribute to code reviews, bug fixes, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality deliverables.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, and business teams, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products.</li> <li>Continuously learn new technologies and approaches to software development.</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>Required Education and Experience:<ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a similar technical field</li> <li>Minimum 5 (+) years of experience developing software or SaaS product.</li> <li>Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python and Typescript.</li> <li>Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).</li> <li>Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).</li> <li>Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.</li> <li>Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>Proven capability to mentor and provide support to Junior Developers.</li> <li>Ability to dive into new codebases, generate data-driven decisions for refactoring opportunities, and contribute code.</li> <li>Experience with handling large data sets and implementing data processing pipelines and ETL principles: <ul> <li>Knowledge of AWS Athena</li> <li>Familiarity with Parquet files</li> <li>Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.</li> </ul></li></ul> Preferred Education and Experience:<ul> <li>Knowledge of cloud-based solutions, specifically AWS.</li> <li>Familiarity with transmission power systems, and power system solvers.</li> <li>Exposure to analytics or engineering software in the energy sector is a plus.</li></ul> Lead the change!  Electric Power Engineers, Inc.
