Timmons Group is currently looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Proposal Manager to lead and mentor our proposal team, manage and oversee pursuit efforts, and help elevate the way we communicate our value to clients. This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and partners closely with firm leadership. This is a full-time position, preferably at our headquarters in Richmond, VA, and may require periodic travel to our branch offices.Your time will be focused on managing and coaching a multi-office proposal team, engaging with firm leaders on pursuits, and ensuring our materials reflect the highest standards. You’ll also oversee lead tracking, pursuit meetings, and ongoing process improvements to support business development goals.In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing, overseeing, and directing the delivery of clear, compelling, and compliant proposals in addition to assisting with the development of marketing plans for all Timmons Group divisions and offices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Lead and manage the firmwide proposal process, including facilitating go/no-go decisions, gathering input from technical and leadership teams, and ensuring timely, high-quality, and competitive submissions.</li><li>Oversees preparation of reports and presents them to firm leadership to help track key outcomes and goal accomplishment.</li><li>Provide mentorship, training, and day-to-day oversight for a team of proposal and marketing professionals, fostering growth and accountability.</li><li>Take a hands-on role in developing responses to complex RFPs, RFQs, and interview presentations that align with client needs and showcase our strengths.</li><li>Maintain and improve proposal procedures, templates, and content libraries to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality.</li><li>Oversee lead monitoring, daily opportunity tracking, and reporting to keep teams aligned and focused on priority pursuits.</li><li>Partner with firm leadership and technical staff to build trusted relationships and ensure collaborative, client-focused strategies.</li><li>Lead or support the development of marketing plans and coordinate periodic marketing team meetings.</li></ul>Skills/Requirements:<ul><li>Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.</li><li>Minimum 15 Years’ Experience in the AEC industry required with familiarity with the unique challenges and requirements, ensuring that proposals and marketing efforts are tailored to this sector.</li><li>Actively engaged in the community with established professional relationships in both marketing and engineering organizations.</li><li>Proven experience in proposal management and development with demonstrated ability to manage and develop proposals, including federal, state, and local RFP responses as well as design-build RFQ solicitations.</li><li>Proven experience leading and managing a team of marketing professionals.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar CRM/proposal tracking platforms preferred.</li><li>Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a client-focused mindset.</li><li>Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.</li><li>Creative, strategic thinker with a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.</li></ul>
