Position Overview:Solid Power is seeking a Senior Process Engineering manager to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries.  The Senior Process Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling manufacturing processes for Solid Power’s solid-state battery materials. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with R&amp;D, Quality, Operations, and Equipment Engineering teams to ensure successful technology transfer from lab to pilot to full-scale production. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. This position will be a part of the Electrolyte Technologies team for developing new powder process and scaling up to mass production. Job Duties:<ul><li style="font-size:12pt;">Lead and mentor a team of process engineers focused on solid-state battery materials.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Drive continuous improvement initiatives in yield, throughput, and process stability.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Define process specifications, operating conditions, and process control strategies.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Support equipment selection, commissioning, and qualification in collaboration with Equipment Engineering and vendors.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Collaborate with R&amp;D and Product Development teams to industrialize new materials and technologies.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Ensure processes meet quality, safety, and environmental standards.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Apply statistical methods (e.g., DOE, SPC) to improve process performance and reliability.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Create and maintain documentation such as work instructions, SOPs, and PFMEAs.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for process-related issues.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Work with cross functional teams to scale up protype materials into pilot and production scale equipment.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Lead and assist in the process hazard analysis (PHA). Identify and implement layers of production to ensure process safety.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Develop work instructions for equipment and process operations.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Assist EH&amp;S in ensuring occupational safety on the manufacturing floor.</li></ul>Qualifications/Requirements:<ul><li style="font-size:12pt;">Bachelors degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or a related field of study.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">7+ years of process engineering experience in battery, chemical, or advanced materials manufacturing.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">5+ years of leadership or people management experience required.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Hands-on experience with scale-up and transfer of processes from lab/pilot to production.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Knowledge of battery powder material unit operations is highly desirable.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Experience in scaling up of powder manufacturing equipment is a must.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Experience in a fast-paced startup or high-growth manufacturing environment.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Proficiency in statistics software packages (JMP, Minitab) and process simulation tools.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, international fire code, electrical area classification, and EPA requirements.</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li style="font-size:12pt;">Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR</li></ul>Salary Range: $150,000 - $185,000/yearApplication Deadline: 11/01/2025Benefits: Solid Power offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid Life/AD&amp;D/STD/LTD insurance, 401k with company match, 8 paid holidays + the week between Christmas and New Years, Unlimited PTO, up to six (6) weeks paid FMLA leave, cell phone reimbursement and eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity plans. Export Control Requirements: This position could require access to technology, software and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
