You will immediately bring your experience in heavy equipment manufacturing to influence vehicle design to maximize manufacturability, design assembly workflows, develop production tooling, and optimize our vehicle production line. As part of a growing team, you'll help build our manufacturing capabilities from pilot production through volume ramp.What you'll do:<ul><li>Develop manufacturing and assembly workflows and processes for final assembly of diesel-electric autonomous vehicles including primary structure, steering and suspension, control modules, engine/generator, and traction motor integration.</li><li>Develop subassembly station architecture and work with component and system design engineers to ensure product structure alignment. </li><li>Provide structured feedback to component and system designers during the earliest stages of the design process to maximize the manufacturability of the vehicle. </li><li>Design tooling and fixtures for moving and integrating heavy components (diesel engines, generators, cast axle housings) including using precision sensor mounting systems.</li><li>Define appropriate safety procedures, including for high-voltage safety/wetted fuel systems/exhaust/etc, for the manufacturing and assembly process of the vehicle. </li><li>Develop detailed initial work instructions by collaborating extensively with component/system design engineers and the manufacturing team. </li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:<ul><li>8-15 years experience in heavy equipment, automotive, or hybrid vehicle manufacturing with at least 2-5 years in a lead/architect/focal role. </li><li>Expertise in large, heavy vehicle manufacturing and assembly.
