This role is central to maintaining operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and enhancing customer experience. You will lead by example, uphold best practice standards, and contribute to The Crown Estate’s commitment to a net zero carbon estate by 2030.</p><h3>Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities</h3><ul><li>Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with health and fire safety regulations.</li><li>Manage day-to-day building operations, including both soft and hard services.</li><li>Act as the primary contact for occupiers, delivering responsive and high-quality service.</li><li>Support customer fit-outs in line with The Crown Estate’s Lease Transaction Approval (LTA) process.</li><li>Collaborate with estate service partners and suppliers to ensure service delivery aligns with lease obligations and budget expectations.</li><li>Prepare and monitor service charge and operational expenditure budgets, including variance reporting and reconciliations.</li><li>Lead emergency response procedures and out-of-hours cover, prioritising safety and continuity.</li><li>Maintain and oversee mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring contracts meet operational and maintenance standards.</li><li>Coordinate major works with surveyors, architects, and consultants, including lifecycle and development projects.</li><li>Manage contractor activities, issue permits to work, and review risk assessments and method statements.</li><li>Maintain site logbooks and ensure compliance through regular inspections and defect resolution.</li><li>Develop occupier handbooks and manage vacant properties in line with insurance guidelines.</li><li>Support insurance claims and coordinate related site works.</li></ul><h3>Most Important Skills-Based Requirements</h3><ul><li>Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and implement business improvements.</li><li>Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.</li><li>Proven ability to foster a safety-first culture across site teams.</li><li>Experience in property or corporate facilities management, with a collaborative and change-positive mindset.</li><li>Effective organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.</li><li>In-depth understanding of safety, quality, and cost risk management.</li><li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities management.</li><li>Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.</li></ul><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Our Offering / benefits:</strong></p><p>As well as a competitive salary, pension and performance related bonus offering, we have a wealth of benefits available ranging from flexible working; market leading family policies and shopping discounts in the West End, to private healthcare; life and critical illness cover and 28 days holiday with the option to buy more.
