This individual will ideally possess extensive experience in Distributed Generation Solar Projects, showcasing their expertise in navigating the intricacies of financial management within the renewable energy sector. </p><p>The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the finance team through various financial processes, including overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and conducting in-depth financial analysis. In addition to these responsibilities, the Financial Controller will also play a key role in strategic decision-making, providing invaluable insights and support to the CFO to help shape the company's financial future. </p><p>This position represents a demanding yet rewarding opportunity, offering significant autonomy as well as the chance to contribute to the review and development of departmental practices, ultimately fostering an environment of continuous improvement and growth.</p><h3>PRIMARY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</h3><ul> <li>Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, to guide resource allocation and support decision-making.</li> <li>Deliver monthly financial reports to the executive team, featuring variance analysis that highlights key financial insights.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with regulations to mitigate legal and financial risks.</li> <li>Lead the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records and establishing internal controls.</li> <li>Serve as the primary contact for external auditors during the annual audit process.</li> <li>Offer financial analyses to aid strategic business initiatives, ensuring financial aspects are incorporated into major decisions.</li> <li>Manage cash flow and working capital to maintain financial stability and sustainability.</li> <li>Assist in developing financial policies and procedures that aim to improve operational efficiency.</li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul> <li>Supervise and mentor the accounting team comprising 3 Senior Accountants and Accounts Payable &amp; Accounts Receivable professionals responsible for:</li> <ul> <li>Project Accounting: </li> <ul> <li>Track and assist project budgets, ensuring congruence with forecasts.</li> <li>Generate budget-to-actual reports that identify trends and variances.</li> <li>Oversee project cash flows for prompt invoicing and precise cash forecasting.</li> </ul> <li> Month End: </li> <ul> <li>Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, loans, and other balance sheet items.</li> <li>Complete the month-end close checklist.</li> </ul> <li> Bank Reconciliations: Oversee weekly reconciliations and explore opportunities for automation.</li> <li>Ensure the accuracy of invoice and expense coding in the ERP system.</li> <li>Assist with various audits (internal, external, state, local).</li> <li>Review weekly Accounts Payable payment runs for precision.</li> <li>Manage the accounts receivable process: </li> <ul> <li>Ensure accurate filing of contract documentation.</li> <li>Maintain and update relevant schedules and waivers.</li> <li>Create and input invoices into the ERP system.</li> <li>Communicate with customers for collections and manage outstanding receivables.</li> <li>Organize all pertinent documents.</li> <li>Disseminate Accounts Receivable and cash reports on a weekly basis.</li> </ul> <li> Address and oversee special projects as they arise.</li> </ul> </ul><p></p><h3>EDUCATION &amp; KNOWLEDGE</h3><p>A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
