The ideal candidate will possess project management experience in the automotive industry, along with a strong background in LEAN manufacturing. We're looking for someone with demonstrated success supporting engineering teams with investigations, testing and analysis with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Support engineering team at the manufacturing plant (OEM) on activities such as trials, investigations, quality sorts, and containments.</li><li>Assist in developing parts requirement lists and managing parts logistics to support plant trials and quality investigations.</li><li>Ensure all parts are available and delivered on time to support plant activities and quality containment efforts.</li><li>Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components required for plant-based trials and investigations.</li><li>Ensure all logistics activities related to Engineering are coordinated to deliver a flawless project i.e. Inbound shipments, Finished Vehicle Logistics, Material Flow, Freight, Packaging, Engineering Change, Warehousing, Systems and Trade compliance for Hazmat Material shipments as well as for international shipments.</li><li>Develop comprehensive project plans to support manufacturing trials, quality investigations, and containment actions.</li><li>Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, cross-project dependencies.</li><li>Monitor Warehouse parts picks, confirming correct PNs and Qty are retrieved, properly packed and shipped on time.</li><li>Identify, manage and monitor completion of shipments throughout the project.</li><li>Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics and KPIs to show progress and readiness.</li><li>Manage and track closure of issues to ensure problems are being closed in a timely manner or escalated.</li><li>Document best practices and lessons learned throughout the duration of the program.</li><li>Establish working relationships with plant operations, quality, and logistics teams to support manufacturing readiness and issue resolution.</li><li>Provide input to budget development to ensure adequate resources for plant-based support activities and quality initiatives.</li><li>Provide feedback and lessons learned from plant support activities into future program planning.</li><li>A small amount of travel may be required to support operational teams.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>2+ years of experience in any of the following areas: transportation, warehouse operations, material flow, material planning, packaging or materials handling.</li><li>2+ years of related automotive industry experience and LEAN manufacturing.</li><li>Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project timelines.</li><li>Experience in using project management tools.</li><li>Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications.</li><li>A history of working independently with limited oversight or input.</li></ul><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Logistics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
