We are united by a shared sense of urgency to provide clean power for the world, particularly managing climate change while meeting<h2>Job Overview:</h2>As Senior Opto-electrical Engineer – Diagnostics, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and integration of optoelectrical systems for multiple diagnostics at Pacific Fusion’s demonstration system<h2>Responsibilities:</h2><ul style=""><li>Design and develop electronic circuits for laser control and characterization</li><li>Integrate and characterize optoelectronic components, including photodetectors, modulators, and laser systems, and high speed cameras diodes</li><li>Develop and implement RF signal detection and processing techniques for optical systems</li><li>Work with single-mode and multi-mode fiber optics for system integration and signal transmission</li><li>Perform system-level testing, data analysis, and debugging of optical and RF systems</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including optics, mechanical, and software engineers</li><li>Document design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports</li><li>Stay current with advancements in photonics, RF systems, and relevant technologies</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul style=""><li>Expertise in several of the following:<ul style=""><li>RF signal detection and processing</li><li>Laser systems and drivers</li><li>Optoelectronic modulation (e.g., EOMs, AOMs)</li><li>Fiber optic integration and alignment</li></ul></li><li>Proficient with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and optical power meters.</li><li>Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design. </li></ul>Preferred but not required:<ul style=""><li>Experience with high-speed digital electronics and data acquisition systems.</li><li>Familiarity with optical communication systems and photonic integrated circuits.</li><li>Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.</li><li>Knowledge of radiation effects on electrical systems</li><li>Experience working closely with PhD scientists and R&amp;D technology organizations</li></ul><h2>Benefits:</h2><ul style=""><li>Industry-competitive salary</li><li>Equity plan</li><li>6% employer 401k matching</li><li>Generous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave)</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance</li></ul>Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location.
