AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. This position is based in our Ottawa office. Major Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provides expert advice, guidance, and subject matter expertise throughout the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.</li><li>Ensures that municipal design and construction meet technical requirements through comprehensive design reviews, submittal evaluations, and testing. Key responsibilities include:</li><li>Conducting Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for proposed upgrades, alterations, maintenance, and new construction to ensure adherence to applicable regulations, codes, standards, and client-specific requirements. This includes assessing the reasonableness of proposed methodologies, criteria, and designs.</li><li>Providing non-resident engineering expertise through field inspections at various stages of construction.</li><li>Overseeing municipal servicing and coordinating with City of Ottawa and utilities for site infrastructure, including water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, gas, roads, bridges, underground lift stations, and parking garages. Offers expert guidance on capacity, demand, and the reliability of existing systems.</li><li>Evaluating alternative technical proposals submitted by contractors and assessing their feasibility and alignment with project requirements.</li><li>Coordinating the technical aspects of municipal infrastructure engineering within the program, including setting targets and goals.</li><li>Facilitating integration across engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure seamless coordination of programs, facilities, and assets.</li><li>Reviewing contractor and designer deliverables to confirm compliance with relevant requirements, codes, and standards.</li><li>Monitoring the designer’s input throughout the construction phase, including RFIs, shop drawings, material approvals, mock-ups, and punch lists.</li><li>Providing management-level progress reports and briefings on structural design progress, challenges, and opportunities.</li></ul> <ul></ul>
