And that’s where you come in.Job Description:<div>Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior HSE Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.  The position is based in Batesburg, SC.</div><div></div><div>Accountabilities:</div><div><ul><li>Oversee and manage Prevention through Design concepts in advance of plant renovation and construction activities.</li><li>Collaborate with Real Estate, Facilities and Architectural firms to embed safety into plant design.</li><li>Collaborate with Process Engineering to analyze risk in new plant layout and within redesigned work-flow process.</li><li>Supervise &amp; manage consultancy work that supports workflow design and ergonomics solutions.</li><li>Manage workstation risk assessment program and prioritize resulting action items.</li><li>Introduce digital solutions to enhance workplace safety (i.e. technologies for electrical, vehicle, and ergonomics safety).</li><li>Deploy Management of Change Program for new equipment purchases and facility renovations.</li><li>Deploy Contractor Management Program for external partners.</li><li>Collaborate with Operations and Facilities departments on new initiatives in alignment with planned Transformation activities.</li><li>Reviewing contracts and aligning deliverables against allocated budget.</li><li>Work with Procurement, Operations and Engineering departments to identify effective solutions for new tools and equipment.</li><li>Represent the HSE Department during Transformation Meetings.</li><li>Prepare weekly status reports for senior management.</li><li>Manage action planning and status reports for local management reviews.</li><li>Verify controls measures from Risk Analyses.</li></ul>Required skills/experience:<ul><li>10+ years managing safety in a Manufacturing Industry.</li><li>Experience working with Electro-mechanical, machining or electronics assembly. </li><li>Communication, presentation and training Development and Delivery Experience.</li><li>Experience integrating into functional teams and engaging stakeholders from across all disciplines in the HSE Program.</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA Regulations and ANSI Standards.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with corporate and legislative requirements, standards, and regulations.</li><li>Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and promote a harmonious safety environment.</li><li>Ability to complete written reports and electronic communications expeditiously and with a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism.</li><li>Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of PCs and software applications related to the work, such as MS Office, MS Teams, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.</li><li>A valid Driver’s License</li><li>Experience in applications of Project Management; prioritizing tasks, budget management, team leadership, and scheduling work activities.</li></ul> Desired skills/experience:<ul><li>Proven ability to oversee and coordinate work of contractors and consultants.</li><li>Experience with reviewing and interpreting engineered drawings and blueprints.</li><li>Knowledge in Electrical Safety requirements and applicable Standards (e.g. NFPA 70E)</li><li>Experienced in identifying and mitigating ergonomic risk factors.</li><li>Experience in deploying concepts of Prevention Through Design.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety and/or Environment Management or Industrial Engineering</li></ul>Language:English ProficiencyBenefits: Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short &amp; Long Term Disability, Life &amp; Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
