Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and determines priorities. Allocates methods required to meet shipping and receiving requirements. Supervise scheduling of shipments utilizing shipping procedures, routes and rates that use the most cost-efficient platform.Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing and frequency</li><li>Implements material flow management to meet production requirements</li><li>Trains department personnel in roles and responsibilities</li><li>Supervises inbound and outbound logistics activities to assure accuracy and completeness</li><li>Supervises the packing of items and the verification of related paperwork</li><li>Determines cost effective shipping methods and verifies that complete orders have been shipped and received in accordance with requirements</li><li>Oversees inventory of all shipping supplies, including boxes, packing materials, tape labels and any special supplies</li><li>Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving to storage and work locations.</li><li>Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications</li><li>Coordinates the scheduling of staff members.</li><li>Determines space requirements and position of shipment and layouts</li><li>Tracks shipping metrics and drives continuous improvement</li></ul>Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four- year college or university in Logistics or a related field and 2-5 years of directly related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
