You will foster an environment of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring that your team delivers impactful solutions to support the global energy transition.<h2>Key Job Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Lead and mentor a team of embedded software developers working on firmware for solar field-deployed edge devices.</li><li>Drive planning, architecture, and execution of embedded software development, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.</li><li>Collaborate with hardware engineers to define hardware-software interfaces and ensure integrated system performance.</li><li>Oversee firmware design, implementation, debugging, testing, and documentation.</li><li>Implement and enforce embedded security best practices, including secure boot, encrypted firmware updates, and hardware-based key storage.</li><li>Ensure implementation of authentication, authorization, and certificate/key management protocols across embedded platforms.</li><li>Promote and enforce best practices in embedded software development (e.g., version control, continuous integration, code review, automated testing, static analysis).</li><li>Manage Agile development processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and team retrospectives.</li><li>Proactively identify and address technical risks, blockers, and system bottlenecks.</li><li>Guide the design and integration of wireless communication protocols (e.g., Wi-SUN, Wi-Fi HaLow, Zigbee, Bluetooth, or proprietary RF solutions) for robust and secure field connectivity.</li><li>Influence the long-term architecture and technology strategy for embedded systems used in Nextracker’s edge device platform.</li></ul><h2>Basic Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Experience: 8+ years of embedded software development experience with 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role.</li><li>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Proficient in C/C++, Javascript and real-time firmware development.</li><li>Proficiency in MQTT protocol.</li><li>Strong understanding of embedded microcontrollers, peripherals, RTOS, and interrupt-driven design.</li><li>Experience with board bring-up, device drivers, and bootloaders.</li><li>Familiarity with digital/analog interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, GPIO.</li><li>Solid understanding of wireless networking protocols and their integration in embedded systems (e.g., 802.11, BLE, Wi-SUN, Wi-Fi HaLow, Sub-GHz RF).</li></ul></li><li>Hardware Knowledge: Ability to read schematics, debug hardware-software integration issues, and work closely with hardware engineers during product development.</li><li>Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage priorities, and communicate effectively across disciplines.</li><li>Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.</li><li>Languages: Fluency in English.</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Education: Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.</li><li>Experience:<ul><li>Experience leading firmware development for industrial, solar, or energy control products.</li></ul></li><li>Tools and Technologies:<ul><li>  Python or scripting knowledge for test automation.</li><li>  Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD tools for embedded development.</li><li>  Experience with embedded Linux or bare-metal platforms.</li><li>  Knowledge of wireless mesh networks, device provisioning, and secure communication protocols.</li></ul></li><li>Cross-Disciplinary Experience: Understanding of cloud integration, edge computing, or remote diagnostics is a plus.</li></ul><h1>Why Join Nextracker?</h1>🚀 Innovative Environment: Be part of a team at the forefront of revolutionizing solar energy technology.
