We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance &amp; Accounting Leader to provide strategic and operational oversight for TOMRA Food’s US and Canadian entities. This visible leadership role will manage a team of accounting professionals while fostering a high-energy, positive, and collaborative team culture.This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial data, driving the month-end close process, overseeing internal controls, and coordinating external audits, tax filings, and insurance processes. The leader will guide daily accounting operations, monitor team workflow, and serve as the go-to accounting authority for both internal stakeholders and external partners.This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, influencing the success of TOMRA Food in North America while cultivating a motivated and results-driven finance team.Primary Job Functions<ul><li>Accounting oversight for both US and Canadian entities</li><li>Manage the daily activities of the accounting department</li><li>Implement, monitor, and enhance accounting and internal control procedures; assure internal control compliance</li><li>Manage operational financial data and ensure data integrity and accuracy</li><li>Audit team workflow to assure that accounting transactions are appropriately authorized, complete, and properly reflected in the accounts</li><li>Review and reconcile General Ledger detail through IFS Applications; prepare and post proper adjusting journal entries</li><li>Drive periodic closing and reporting process into Cognos</li><li>Ensure periodic financial reporting is accurate, complete, and timely</li><li>Reconcile and maintain capital asset records through IFS Applications</li><li>Reconcile and maintain vehicle fleet lease records</li><li>Work on special projects, including annual audit preparation</li><li>Coordinate with external tax advisors regarding federal and state income tax, including issuing payments and maintaining records</li><li>Coordinate with external insurance providers regarding corporate insurance benefits, including issuing payments</li><li>Provide accounting system support to internal users</li><li>Respond to queries and requests from various departments</li><li>Support Finance Director Americas as needed</li><li>Execute other duties as assigned</li><li>Promote a “Safety First” culture throughout the company, our customers, and our industry</li></ul>Financial and Business Management<ul><li>Meet financial targets by owning the assigned budget</li><li>Develop and implement the business short-, medium- and long-term priorities in accordance with the business strategy, to achieve short- and long-term success</li><li>Accurately plan and forecast the assigned business to include performance, resources and finances</li></ul>People Management &amp; Communication<ul><li>Manage performance, career and succession plans for direct team</li><li>Develop a high performing &amp; accountable team and facilitate team’s achievement of goals &amp; objectives</li><li>Develops productive relationships and maintain an atmosphere of trust</li><li>Effectively communicates using TOMRA Values and leadership principles as the foundation</li><li>Fosters an environment of teamwork and collaboration</li><li>Promotes a culture of feedback to ensure understanding</li></ul>
