The incumbent will assist in overseeing the utilisation of all human and other resources in the provision of SMEC services across the Transport Sectors. <ul><li>Supports the transport leadership in providing strategic and operational direction;</li><li>Assists the transport leadership in managing and achieve effective utilisation of all human and other resources in the provision of SMEC services;</li><li>Supports the transport leadership team in coordinating and prioritising our national support services to the State Transport Sector teams;</li><li>Provides transitional expertise, support for client services, reporting and business development activities.</li></ul>The incumbent will role model SMEC values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.YouThe successful candidate will typically have 15+ years’ industry experience, recognised as an authority in the transport infrastructure design market and would have undertaken Manager / Team Lead roles in similar engineering consulting organisations, demonstrating the ability to consistently:<ul><li>Manage multi-disciplinary projects successfully, to budget and client specifications</li><li>Build trusting and productive client and stakeholder relationships</li><li>Provides a key client facing or business development function for key pursuits and projects that have a large multi-sector component</li><li>Have a change ready mindset that encourages cross pollination across regions, businesses, and sectors</li><li>Produce major tender/proposal documents of an excellent standard and in a timely manner</li><li>Manage a team effectively for performance and cohesion</li><li>Recognised as a local authority in the transport industry</li></ul>At SMEC, you will benefit from working in a flexible global organisation with exposure to international best practice engineering design.
