The role reports to the Strategic Portfolio Cost Management Lead.<ul><li>Budget management and allocations</li><li>Performs the month-end cost reporting process, including variance analysis and performance reviews.</li><li>Collates Value of Work Done data from various sources for the appropriate work area or project.</li><li>Analysis of cost performance to allow accurate forecasting.</li><li>Maintain the cost management tool and assure data inputs and outputs</li><li>Monitors overall cost performance including contractors reporting, ensuring adherence to budgets and agreed-upon cost KPIs.</li><li>Ensures alignment between schedule and cost baselines, collaborating with Planning &amp; Scheduling and Risk teams data.</li></ul>What You’ll Bring<ul><li>Proven experience in cost management within NEC3/NEC4 ECC frameworks, ideally on large-scale EPC projects.</li><li>Strong understanding of cost management methodologies; RICS certification or familiarity is desirable.</li><li>Ability to develop and manage cost structures for complex, multi-million-pound projects.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders and cross-functional teams.</li><li>Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret and report on cost data, trends, and KPIs.</li><li>Proficient in industry-standard systems including S/4 HANA, SAP, Power BI, CEMAR, and Microsoft Office.</li><li>Sound knowledge of scope change management and its impact on cost performance.</li><li>Experience integrating Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics into reporting processes.</li><li>Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contract options, particularly Options C and E.</li><li>Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities under pressure.</li><li>Understanding of cash flow forecasting and Value of Work Done (VoWD) processes, including accruals and financial planning.</li></ul>Minimum Requirements<ul><li>Proficiency in IT systems including MS Office, SAP, S/4 HANA, and Power BI, with the ability to produce and analyse detailed cost reports.</li><li>Demonstrated expertise in cost control, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.</li><li>Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Finance, Project Management) or equivalent experience.</li><li>Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team in high-pressure environments.</li></ul>What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
