We’re looking for an FP&amp;A / Controlling Manager to join our Finance team and play a key role in building our internal planning and performance steering capabilities. How you'll contribute <ul><li>Take ownership of our financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis</li><li>Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and models that give insights into business performance and support strategic decisions</li><li>Partner with project managers to increase transparency in actual vs planned costs on project level</li><li>Partner with teams across the business to understand drivers, challenge assumptions, and help improve financial outcomes</li><li>Support monthly and quarterly investor reporting, including preparing materials and commentary</li><li>Work closely with the VP Finance on funding topics, scenario planning, and strategic initiatives</li><li>Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes that help scale the finance function</li><li>Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities with an external tax accounting function</li></ul>Your first 12 months in the role: expectations and deliverables Month 0-3 <ul><li>Built a deep understanding of our business model, key drivers, and cost structure</li><li>Taken over core responsibilities in monthly reporting and budget vs. actual analysis</li><li>Improved the structure of existing spreadsheets and reporting files</li><li>Established good working relationships with key stakeholders across departments</li></ul>Months 3-6<ul><li>Developed and implemented a forecasting model to support regular re-forecasting</li><li>Taken ownership of our investor reporting model and contributed to board materials</li><li>Supported funding and grant application processes with tailored financial data and analysis</li><li>Identified and started improving manual processes (e.g., automating recurring reports)</li></ul>Months 6-12 <ul><li>Rolled out new internal reporting formats and dashboards across the company</li><li>Played a key role in the next annual budgeting cycle and long-term planning</li><li>Built robust financial models for scenario analysis and strategic projects</li><li>Contributed to shaping our FP&amp;A function and played a visible role in company-wide planning discussions</li></ul> About you ✔ You are a university graduate or have up to approx. 4 years of professional experience in FP&amp;A, controlling, M&amp;A, or financial modeling, ideally in a start-up, scale-up, VC-backed company, or management consultancy ✔ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, CFA or MBA is desirable ✔ You’re highly analytical and structured, and you enjoy translating numbers into insights ✔ You’re comfortable working with Excel / Google Sheets, and ideally have experience with BI tools ✔ You understand the fundamentals of accounting and financial statements well ✔ You have strong communication skills and enjoy collaborating with different stakeholders ✔ You’re fluent in English; German is a plus but not required What we offer <ul><li>30 days vacation plus public holidays to ensure you also have the down time needed to rest and recharge</li><li>The possibility to grow and shape your role</li><li>Working with founders who understand - and invest time in - the importance of building a healthy and sustainable organization</li><li>Open and transparent communication on company development</li></ul> Noteworthy points ❌ This role cannot be done fully remotely. GCT operates a low energy DAC approach to capture CO2 while generating hydrogen as a byproduct. The process consists of 3 main process steps. Absorption in a liquid, precipitation and desorption through alkaline electrolysis. The technology is based on 15 years of research with relevant patent applications filed and working prototypes. The company was founded as a university spin-out by 2 serial entrepreneurs and an experienced DAC researcher.
