Standard Duties The Maintenance Automation Technician is responsible for providing care and technical support to manufacturing and engineering processes and assets. The Maintenance Automation Technician is responsible for installing and repairing systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for staying up to date on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques. Internal candidates will be selected based on an interview including but not limited to skill set, and attitude.Roles and Responsibilities<ul><li>Follow all safety policies, procedures and protocols while servicing, installing or maintaining equipment. </li><li>Perform all work in accordance with company policies and procedures, OSHA/EPA requirements and regulations.</li><li>Work with engineering staff and outside vendors regarding equipment installation, upgrades, and parts.to develop equipment and controls for new products as well as improving existing equipment (cycle time, scrap reduction, improved quality, etc). </li><li>Perform preventive maintenance as assigned which includes, but is not limited to repair, diagnose, clean, lubricate, upgrade manufacturing equipment, glue dispensing equipment, plasma treat equipment, slide actuators, hoist, conveyors, etc. </li><li>Provide support to troubleshoot and recover any problem with robots on the production line. </li><li>Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned), on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems. Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.</li><li>Inspect, monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.</li><li>Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric, and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime.</li><li>Inspect, service, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated equipment, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, electrical systems, telemetering devices, monitoring instruments, and control instrumentation.  Servicing and maintain equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production related equipment.</li><li>Operating vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment - Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, boom lifts, pallet jacks or other industrial trucks.</li><li>Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.</li><li>Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standards.</li><li>Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.</li><li>Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information in accordance with SOP’s.</li><li>Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to Supervisor.</li><li>Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.</li><li>Maintain a 5S compliant work area while completing tasks related to maintenance, repair, or installation.</li></ul><ul><li>Determine serviceability of parts and components by inspecting used parts, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.</li><li>Fabricate simple repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.</li><li>Willing to work non-traditional hours including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call availability.   Readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations</li><li>Perform other duties as required.</li><li>Overtime may be required.</li></ul>Safety, Health, and Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Moderate to steady lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to loading machines, unloading machines, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.</li><li>All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with the safety policies and procedures.  </li><li>This position requires a moderate to high degree of standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling, close eye work, reaching, pulling, or pushing.</li><li>Requires wearing personal protective equipment.</li><li>May require occasional work from heights.
