In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out detailed inspections, system checks, and diagnostics to ensure our vehicles meet the highest safety and quality standards before they hit the road. You’ll work with a range of chassis, driveline, and engine systems (including diesel and EV), using your technical expertise to resolve issues efficiently and effectively. If you’re a time-served technician with a PSV licence, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering quality, this could be the opportunity for you.WHAT YOU WILL DO:<ul> <li>To perform underbody inspections to the specified check sheet and rectify issues as required.</li> <li>To perform system checks, updates &amp; diagnosis as required.</li> <li>To complete sign off documentation </li> <li>To always work diligently and achieve time &amp; quality standards</li> <li>To select &amp; use correctly appropriate equipment and tools for the  required work task </li> <li>To use equipment &amp; tools in a safe manner,  using appropriate PPE as necessary</li> <li>To ensure the work environment is maintained in a safe &amp; tidy manner &amp; to sweep work area daily</li> <li>To respond to late/out of core hours &amp; ‘call out’ situations as required</li> <li>Occasional travel &amp; overnight stays as required </li> <li>Will be required to provide ‘fixed’ holiday cover as required  </li> <li>Any other duties deemed within capability as required</li> </ul>WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:<ul> <li>Time Served Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance &amp; Repair or can demonstrate occupational competence in an equivalent environment</li> <li>Able to work in a safe manner recognising potential risk to oneself and one’s work colleagues</li> <li>Competent to use a range of hand &amp; power tools as required to undertake designated work task efficiently &amp; safely</li> <li>Able to work under own initiative and minimum supervision</li> <li>Thorough understanding of chassis driveline systems and components e.g. Volvo, AD diesel &amp; EV, Voith, Battery systems.</li> <li>Thorough understanding of engine systems and EV drive systems.</li> <li>Valid driving licence – essential</li> <li>PSV licence – essential</li> <li>IT proficiency to include through understanding of any diagnostic software for major vehicles systems e.g. Cummings engine software, voith</li> </ul>WHY JOIN OUR TEAM:<ul> <li>Generous salary package – we reward our people at the level they deserve.</li> <li>A 37-hour working week</li> <li>Ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives along with tuition subsidies for courses at outside institutions. </li> <li>Annual leave entitlement which increases with tenure.</li> <li>Pension scheme to help you save for the future. </li> <li>Access to our Employee Assistance Programme which offers practical, impartial support on issues impacting your life.</li> <li>Cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership, as your health and wellbeing is important to us.</li> </ul>OUR WHY: We move people.
