Timmons Group is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer III to join our Electrical Design Group located in our Charlotte, NC office location. The successful candidate will provide power engineering services to prepare engineering design packages for power system facilities and renewable energy developments.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Works under the supervision of Project Managers or other staff for assigned projects to produce electrical engineering designs</li><li>Provides input to senior engineering staff on design issues based on the results of calculations or engineering solutions</li><li>Responsible for completion of tasks and plans but is not authorized to sign/seal completed plans as an authorized representative of the company</li><li>As an individual contributor, uses professional judgement to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs</li><li>Actively assists the Project Manager and assigns tasks and schedules to Project Engineers I and II and project team members, answers questions, and monitors progress</li><li>Checks the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff</li><li>Assists the client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Project Manager</li><li>Monitors construction and supervises field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project</li><li>Responds to contractor questions and issues and prepares and issues project addendum as needed</li><li>Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities</li><li>Recommends and prepares change orders for the Project Manager’s review</li><li>Participates in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work</li><li>Provides technical and project leadership to direct activities of assigned professional and technical staff members</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul>Skills/Requirements include but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or related technical field</li><li>Ideal candidates will have a minimum of seven years of professional electrical engineering experience</li><li>Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred</li><li>Will consider Engineer in Training (E.I.T) certification in one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business is required and within one year of employment, must meet all requirements in order to be eligible to take the PE</li><li>Working knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.)</li><li>Experience with CADD software, modeling, design, and/or analysis software preferred</li><li>Experience with Power System economic evaluations</li><li>Ability to multi-task and function while working in either a team or individual environment</li><li>Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read and interpret technical literature and engineering plans</li><li>Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities</li></ul>
