Other duties may be assigned.</p><ul><li>Identify, standardize, and qualify materials (metals, polymers, ceramics) for new and existing products.</li><li>Conduct material compatibility and performance testing under various environmental and operational conditions.</li><li>Develop and refine manufacturing processes such as brazing, welding, heat treatment, metalizing, plating, and surface finishing.</li><li>Implement process controls and statistical methods (SPC, DOE) to ensure repeatability and reliability.</li><li>Assist in failure investigation in evaluating the effect of the chemical composition and mechanical property of various materials.</li><li>Lead root cause investigations for material or process-related failures.</li><li>Recommend and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.</li><li>Create and maintain technical documentation including process specifications, work instructions, and qualification reports.</li><li>Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, ASME) and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Work closely with design, electrical and mechanical engineering operations, and quality teams to support product development and production.</li><li>Interface with suppliers to evaluate and qualify new materials and processes as required.</li><li>Identify opportunities for cost reduction, performance enhancement, and sustainability.</li><li>Lead or support Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Supervisory Responsibilities</h2><p>This job has no supervisory responsibilities.</p><h2></h2><h2>Education and/or Experience:</h2><p>Master's degree (M.S.) in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field and 2-5 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree (B.S.) and 5-7 years of experience.
