Position Description Advanced Energy United (United) is currently seeking a Senior Policy Principal to join our Decisionmaker Education and Engagement team (DMEE).  The DMEE team assists governors, state regulators, state energy office officials, and policymakers to better understand advanced energy products, services, and business models. Through conferences, business roundtables, and educational forums, United educates key stakeholders about the benefits advanced energy technologies and services can provide to customers and helps to solve the challenges in obtaining these benefits.   Reporting directly to the Policy Director, the Senior Policy Principal will be responsible for strategizing, implementing, and managing state-level campaigns dedicated to ensuring key decision-makers are equipped with strategies to deploy affordable advanced energy solutions quickly to support their state’s economy.  The ideal candidate has exceptional project management, relationship building, and stakeholder engagement skills as well as an ability to quickly assess and act upon political dynamics that are affecting the energy sector. While you do not need to be a state energy policy expert to be successful in this role, strong candidates should possess an interest in—and working knowledge of—energy policy issues and be comfortable with communicating with decision-makers at a high level on United’s policy priorities.
