We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.<h2>Overview</h2><p>Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate Manufacturing Engineering Technician level 4/5 to join our powertrain and electronics team to perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on our factory equipment for VTOL electric aircraft. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. Come help us build advanced electric powertrains as we make a mark in the transportation industry. </p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Close cross functional collaboration with engineering teams to develop equipment and processes for production </li></ul><ul> <li>Assembly of prototype products and equipment </li></ul><ul> <li>Provide design for manufacturability feedback </li></ul><ul> <li>Develop assembly methods and corresponding documentation </li></ul><ul> <li>Design and fabrication of simple tools/jigs </li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience </li></ul><ul> <li>Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of work </li></ul><ul> <li>Strong work ethic </li></ul><ul> <li>Team oriented attitude </li></ul><ul> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills </li></ul><ul> <li>Excellent problem-solving techniques and analytical ability </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience with mechanical component assembly and systems integration of mechanical systems </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience with assembly of complex mechanisms </li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Previous experience as NPI (new product introduction) or engineering technician </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience with industrial environments and procedures </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience working on high voltage systems and/or complex electromechanical systems </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience writing and following work instructions </li></ul><ul> <li>Proficiency with machining, welding, and overall mechanical craftsmanship a plus </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience with instrumentation </li></ul><ul> <li>Familiarity with CAD, PLM/PDM systems </li></ul><p>  </p><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $44 - $55 per hour.
