This role partnerswith accounting, finance, IT, and operational teams to identify process inefficiencies, implement best practices, leverage automation, and track results to reduce close cycle timeswithout compromising accuracy or compliance.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><p><strong>Process Analysis &amp; Design</strong></p><ul> <li>Evaluate current close processes, timelines, and dependencies to identify bottlenecks.</li> <li>Conduct root cause analysis of delays and recommend solutions aligned with accounting best practices.</li> <li>Develop future-state workflows that incorporate automation, standardization, and efficiency gains.</li></ul><p><strong>Project Management</strong></p><ul> <li>Lead and manage multiple close-related process improvement projects from initiation to completion.</li> <li>Develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements; monitor progress against milestones.</li> <li>Facilitate cross-functional meetings and ensure alignment with stakeholders.</li></ul><p><strong>Implementation &amp; Change Management</strong></p><ul> <li>Partner with IT to implement ERP system enhancements, automation tools, and integrations.</li> <li>Standardize and document closing procedures, templates, and checklists.</li> <li>Deliver training to accounting staff to support adoption of new processes and tools.</li></ul><p><strong>Performance Measurement &amp; Reporting</strong></p><ul> <li>Track key performance metrics (e.g., days to close, number of post-close adjustments, error rates).</li> <li>Report on progress to leadership and recommend further optimization opportunities.</li> <li>Establish a continuous improvement culture within the accounting function.</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.</li> <li>5+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close responsibilities.</li> <li>3+ years of project management experience; PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.</li> <li>Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.</li> <li>Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, NetSuite) and accounting automation tools.</li> <li>Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence without direct authority.</li> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.</li> <li>Ability to translate accounting needs into technical and operational requirements.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving and change management skills. </li> <li>Data-driven decision-making and KPI tracking capability.</li></ul><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $74,200 - $122,600/yr.
