At Hitachi Global Air Power, you will be part of a global network that is shaping the future of industrial power.Summary of the position:The Industrial Transformation Manager will understand all manufacturing business processes, Continuous improvements, lead business process evaluation sessions, and ensure comprehensive process consistency between users/systems. This manager will own the transformation initiatives by collaborating with site leaders on strategy and deployment objectives. In support of the strategic plan and the business-operating plan in multiple sites, this manager will also pursue implementing Industry 4.0 technologies by integrating new technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) into the production facilities and throughout operations.The position is located at the Hitachi Global Air Power Michigan City manufacturing location.Duties and responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead cross-functional transformation projects designed to analyze and design sequence of operations and workflows for improved efficiencies.</li><li>Assist in the accountability for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the quality, efficiency, and profitability of the manufacturing, inventory, engineering, and production support operations.</li><li>Evaluate and recommend transformation projects/programs providing improvements in key areas (e.g. Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).</li><li>Leverage lean manufacturing, six sigma, business process management/reengineering, and process improvement tools to drive transformation.</li><li>Mobilize transformation teams and support groups to streamline processes.</li><li>Analyze data collected from sensors on the production floor for real-time visibility of manufacturing assets.</li><li>Manage multiple projects with dynamic shifting priorities and targets.</li><li>Implement digital technologies to increase automation and improve production.</li><li>Develop tools for performing predictive and prescriptive maintenance (PdM/RxM) to minimize equipment downtime and increase production rates.</li><li>Set ambitious world class standards that are measured, monitored and achievable.</li><li>Act as a mentor for transformation leadership, supervisory staff and frontline personnel.</li></ul>Qualifications:Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, or Equivalent Degree.</li><li>Current Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Lean Certification a plus.</li></ul>Professional experience:<ul><li>8 - 10 years of successful transformation leadership with demonstrable tangible financial benefit.</li><li>Demonstrated successful project management experience and business acumen.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with ensuring effective change management, development and execution.</li><li>Ability to establish self as credible leader and partner with site leadership as a trusted member of staff.</li><li>Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.</li><li>Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.</li><li>Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.</li><li>Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.</li><li>Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker.</li><li>Knowledge of current manufacturing, EHS, supply chain, quality, Lean, and transformation technologies.</li><li>Strong financial and business acumen and experience leading customer-facing discussions.</li><li>Strong collaborative skills and ability to successfully work in a matrix environment.</li><li>Fosters an environment that raises performance expectations and inspires the team to rethink what's possible</li><li>Ability to analyze data, multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced challenging environment.</li><li>Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, Power BI, Python, R, SAP, SQL, and/or Tableau a plus.</li><li>Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.</li></ul>Physical requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear.
