The Mechanical Superintendent oversees construction management, crew supervision, and planning to ensure efficiency and readiness. With nearly 2 GW of solar and battery energy storage projects we are well positioned for continued success in the rapidly growing clean energy sector. Key Responsibilities:General:<ul><li>Understand contracts, scope, manuals, and drawings; address questions proactively.</li><li>Collaborate with the Construction Manager to plan manpower, tools, equipment, and materials.</li><li>Regularly review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).</li></ul>Subcontract Management:<ul><li>Foster teamwork with subcontractors and ensure clarity on scope and responsibilities.</li><li>Monitor subcontractor activities for schedule adherence and quality.</li><li>Address safety and quality issues promptly, coordinating solutions with site management.</li><li>Track and report subcontractor progress and ensure material readiness.</li></ul>Piles:<ul><li>Prepare equipment, tools, and crews for pile installation, ensuring compliance with standards.</li><li>Coordinate with survey teams to prevent utility strikes and verify accuracy.</li><li>Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure proper installation completion.</li></ul>Racking:<ul><li>Train crews on installation and ensure adherence to project-specific requirements.</li><li>Develop and use tools like cheat sheets and jigs to enhance accuracy.</li><li>Plan logistics for materials staging and hold teams accountable for quality and housekeeping.</li></ul>Modules:<ul><li>Train crews and establish systems to track and report damaged modules.</li><li>Optimize logistics to reduce handling and streamline installation.</li><li>Implement trash and pallet disposal plans and ensure site cleanliness.</li></ul>Qualifications Position Requirements:<ul><li>Solar PV construction experience with field management or foreman background.</li><li>Strong leadership skills to adapt quickly to schedule and scope changes.</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office; ability to work long hours and travel as needed.</li><li>Clean driving record.</li></ul>Supervisory Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide coaching, counseling, and discipline while enforcing policies and procedures.</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>Field-based role with exposure to outdoor and construction conditions, including noise, heights, and extreme temperatures.</li></ul>Position Type &amp; Hours:<ul><li>Full-time, often requiring weekends or extended hours as needed.</li></ul>Travel:<ul><li>Requires travel to various locations within and outside New Mexico.</li></ul>Equal Opportunity Statement: Gridworks is an equal opportunity employer.
