A Security Operations Intern is an integral part of the Information Security team at Workiva. You will gain real-world experience in the Security Operation Center (SOC) by helping resolve security issues, developing defensive capabilities, and maintaining Workiva’s security posture.What You'll Do<ul><li>Document, investigate, and report on information security issues and emerging trends</li><li>Provide Incident Response support when an actionable incident is confirmed</li><li>Manage and configure tools and devices to expand our security monitoring infrastructure</li><li>Develop and maintain alerts, reports, and visualizations to assist with routine security and compliance tasks</li><li>Triage and respond to reported and generated security alerts</li><li>Collaborate with other teams to gather information regarding security problems, issues, and ideas</li></ul>What You'll NeedMinimum Qualifications<ul><li>Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program, preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a similar degree program with a security focus</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Strong ethical and discretionary ability to handle sensitive information and data</li><li>Strong communication and social networking skills (written, verbal, listening) to collaborate with other teams across the organization</li><li>Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills</li><li>Self-motivated to research and understand how things work</li><li>Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems</li><li>Basic competency in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, SQL, Go, and/or Dart)</li><li>Familiarity with Splunk (SPL) query language and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)</li></ul>Travel Requirements &amp; Working Conditions<ul><li>Minimal travel</li><li>Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office</li></ul>Sponsorship Requirements<ul><li>Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future</li></ul> When can you expect to hear back?
