This team includes backend engineers, data scientists, app developers, and firmware engineers, working closely with product managers and UX to deliver features that directly impact farmers worldwide.</p><p>You will spend a significant part of your time in the code by designing, reviewing, and building systems, while also managing, leading and supporting the engineers in your team. You’ll report directly to the VP of Engineering and play a key role in shaping both your team’s success and the wider engineering culture at Nofence.</p><h2><strong>Your main responsibilities will be:</strong></h2><ul><li>Lead by example. Set the technical direction, make architectural decisions, and contribute directly to backend and frontend development.</li><li>People management. Manage and mentor the engineers in your team, supporting their growth and ensuring a healthy, high-performing culture.</li><li>Hands-on contribution. Design and implement scalable, maintainable systems while keeping quality, security, and reliability front of mind.</li><li>Cross-functional collaboration. Keep the VP of Engineering and other teams aligned, ensuring your work integrates seamlessly into the larger Nofence platform.</li></ul><h2><strong>About you</strong></h2><p>We’re looking for a tech-savvy leader who thrives on coding, solving problems, and guiding a team toward impact.</p><p>You might be a great fit if you have:</p><ul><li>Technical depth. 7+ years in software engineering with strong backend experience or solid frontend skills.</li><li>Leadership experience. At least 2 years as a tech lead or manager, leading cross-functional or full-stack teams.</li><li>Hands-on mindset. You enjoy being in the code, making technical decisions, and supporting the team by solving complex problems together.</li><li>People skills. Experience coaching engineers, giving feedback, and fostering professional growth.</li><li>Collaborative leadership. Skilled at working side by side with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering disciplines (firmware, data science, mobile).</li><li>Pragmatism. Strong judgment for balancing speed, quality, and scalability in a scale-up environment.</li><li>Communication.
