To learn more, visit aspendigital.org ABOUT THIS ROLE The Project Manager comes with a strong track record of operational excellence and assumes the primary role in project management and coordination of all activities related to a pilot initiative in the field of AI enabled state &amp; local resilience and disaster preparedness. Subject matter experience is preferred but not required.The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all operations including administrative and logistical activity related to landscaping and preparation work, and successful piloting of the program.The Project Manager will report to the Senior Director, Cybersecurity Programs.. The salary range for this position is the equivalent of $100,000 - $125,000 on an annualized basis. This is a hybrid, Washington, DC-based position, with selected candidates expected to work in person for approximately 40% of the time. The role is currently a term-limited set to conclude July, 15th 2026, with the possibility of growing into a more long term role. WHAT YOU WILL DO<ul> <li>Support and work closely with the Senior Director on all aspects of program launch, program development and implementation.</li> <li>Develop and manage work plans and timelines for projects, and track and adjust tasks and milestones.</li> <li>Address risks and issues affecting project deadlines, and maintain clear and consistent communication on status.</li> <li>Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and help steward meetings, e.g. by scheduling, inviting, and prep work.</li> <li>Support collaboration with internal and external stakeholders under supervision of the Senior Director, including agenda setting and after-meeting follow-up, via coordination with the Aspen Institute’s events team, and more.</li> <li>Work with central functions at the Aspen Institute to develop and implement operational structures and processes – including contracts and vendor relationships, and other administrative processes.</li> <li>Create, update and maintain contact database, and develop and maintain program file systems and archive.</li> <li>Pay invoices, track expenses, with support from the Aspen Institute’s finance team, and interact with funders under supervision of the Director.</li></ul> WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE <ul> <li>At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including coordination of multiple stakeholders and complex project time lines and deliverables.</li> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred; in lieu of a degree commesurate experience is accepted</li> <li>Strong desire to build and get things done, and excellent project management skills.</li> <li>Track record of organizing, implementing and maintaining structure and processes in a fast paced environment.</li> <li>Experience managing priorities and achieving results in a dynamic setting.</li> <li>Content expertise in the realm of AI and disaster management a plus.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills, good at handling occasional external relations and representational roles, and building internal networks in the workplace.</li> <li>Excellent communication and writing skills.</li> <li>Results-oriented, highly motivated, enjoying collaborating with colleagues across teams.</li></ul> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The Aspen Institute offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, and prescription benefits, retirement benefits, and paid leave.The Aspen Institute is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all District and federal laws.
