AECOM is currently seeking an Intermediate CAD Designer - Highways and Roads, based in our Sudbury, ON, Canada office.This is a full-time role expected to begin as soon as possible The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Design and draft highway rehabilitation projects using 2D AutoCAD software.</li><li>Oversee AutoCAD work for multiple projects, ensuring adherence to standards and high-quality output.</li><li>Mentor, coach, and train junior staff, providing ongoing support and guidance for junior staff.</li><li>Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, cross-sections, geometrics, drainage, utilities, signing, pavement markings, detours, and construction staging.</li><li>Develop drawings based on engineering reports, detailed notes, and client specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.</li><li>Assist with engineering calculations and maintain project documentation.</li><li>Coordinate with project managers and design teams to understand project requirements and deliverables.</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental planners, technologists, subconsultants and administrative staff.</li><li>Participate in meetings with internal staff, subconsultants, and clients, documenting decisions and following up on action items.</li><li>Monitor project plans and schedules.</li><li>Adhere to industry design standards and drafting requirements.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiencies.</li><li>Contribute to technical reports and studies.</li><li>Commit to self-development and ongoing professional growth.</li></ul>
