AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Civil Inspector for construction inspection services to oversee the construction of various structural and civil infrastructure installations at various Wastewater Resource Recovery Facilities (WRRFs) The Civil Inspector is a full-time on-site role. The Inspector will be responsible for conducting routine inspections of civil infrastructure, identifying defects and potential hazards, and documenting contract compliance. The Inspector will also be responsible for producing detailed reports and communicating findings to management. The Inspector will have the primary responsibility for assuring quality of the construction. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:<ul><li>Observes Contractor’s construction activities. Accepts work completed in compliance with contract documents, rejects defective work, maintains log of rejected work, assists with resolution of construction issues.</li><li>Coordinates with Contractor to identify upcoming work; verifies upcoming work against issued look ahead schedules.</li><li>Reviews contract requirements, submittals, shop drawings, and other associated documentation.</li><li>Communicates daily with the AECOM Resident Engineer in execution of his/her duties.</li><li>Communicates daily with Contractor’s field team.</li><li>Tracks progress of work in field. Monitors Contractor’s adherence to schedule and provides input on Contractor’s payment requests.</li><li>Inspects work for conformance with contract documents, approved change orders, clarifications, etc.; identifies and reports all nonconforming work; documents all work with daily reports, photos and videos.</li><li>Tracks and verifies Contractor time and material or force account work.</li><li>Conducts inspections to ensure that the work is performed in compliance with the contract documents. Ensures delivered materials comply with approved submittals. Observes and approves Contractor’s testing and QA/QC activities.</li><li>Maintains necessary project documentation, including daily, weekly, and monthly reports and logs. Prepares other required field documentation as necessary.</li><li>Provides input for construction changes. Assist with preparation and negotiation of field orders and change orders.</li><li>Observes implementation of health and safety procedures and practices.</li><li>Performs other assignments as determined by AECOM Resident Engineer.</li><li>Assists with coordination of contractor work activities with Plant Operations, with focus on civil and structural items coordination.</li><li>Ensure the delivered materials and equipment is the correct product from approved vendors.</li><li>Verification that the quality of the work is acceptable</li><li>Witnessing and verifying the acceptability of all field testing.</li><li>Tracking quantities installed on a daily basis.</li><li>Preparing T&amp;M reports as appropriate.</li><li>Verifies Contractor maintenance of As-Built drawings; confirm with Contractor that this is being carried out; review look-ahead schedules. Verification that work is in accordance with the approved shop drawing and sample Submittals.</li></ul>
