We empower and support our employees to pursue their fullest potential and offer meaningful avenues for personal and professional growth.</p><h2><strong>Who We Are Looking For</strong></h2><p>Re:Build Optimation seeks an Automation &amp; Controls Engineer Co-op/Intern to collaborate with engineering, trades, and project management teams on client projects. </p><p><strong>Export Control Requirement: </strong> Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.</p><h2><strong>What You Get To Do</strong></h2><ul><li>Support project teams in a variety of ways including but not limited to: requirements gathering, functional specification development, control system architecture development, piping &amp; instrumentation (P&amp;ID) development, instrumentation &amp; automation equipment specification &amp; selection, PLC code development, HMI screen development, bill of materials (BOM) creation, code &amp; standard review/research (NEC, NFPA, UL508a, etc.), fabrication &amp; assembly support, troubleshooting, etc.</li><li>Produce drawings &amp; schematics with CAD software/tools</li><li>Support the development &amp; writing of technical reports &amp; project documentation</li><li>Collaborate with a senior or principal engineer mentor to establish and achieve personal and professional development objectives</li><li>Participate in internal &amp; client project meetings and design reviews</li><li>Work with project managers to plan, manage, and complete tasks</li></ul><h2><strong>What You Bring To The Team</strong></h2><ul><li>Currently pursuing a BS and/or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and personal management skills</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment</li><li>Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment; naturally curious</li><li>Prior software/coding experience preferred (e.g., Python, Java, C#, etc.)</li><li>Familiarity with CAD software/tools; AutoCAD Electrical is the preferred choice</li><li>Ability to be on-site at our offices in Rochester, NY and/or Rush, NY</li><li>Experience with process simulation tools; ChemCAD preferred</li><li>Experience working with ISO9001 or similar quality system a plus</li><li>Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools &amp; methodologies a plus</li><li>Prior co-op, internship, or relevant project experience supporting engineering &amp; design of industrial equipment and/or automation solutions a plus</li><li>Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred</li></ul><p>Hourly Rate Range: $22 - $25 an hour.
