Join TEAM GREEN at GFL Environmental and become our newest Tractor Trailer Driver in Calgary, AB!At GFL, our goal is to invest in our people and provide opportunities to grow for life!Why Join TEAM GREEN?<ul><li>Excellent Health, Vision, and Dental benefits (orthodontics coverage), as well as RRSP match, for future financial security</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>Paid holidays</li></ul>As the Tractor Trailer Driver will operate tractor-trailer truck on assigned route to service customers in a safe and efficient manner.  Deliver collected solid waste or recyclables to landfill, MRF or transfer station.Requirements:<ul><li>Valid Class 1Q (airbrake) operator’s license, with a 5-year commercial drivers abstract (must be within 30 days and submitted with resume)</li><li>Minimum 2-year commercial driving experience</li><li>Forklift and Skid Steer experience</li><li>Candidates must meet the safety-sensitive functions criteria as established by company standards</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment</li><li>Previous experience with Roll Off bins</li><li>Previous Super-B experience considered an asset</li><li>Previous leadership experience an asset</li></ul>Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Operate tractor-trailer truck and on-board hydraulic systems on assigned route to collect solid waste and/or recyclables on a specified collection route.</li><li>Make sure each load is secure by checking that tarp is closed properly and that no loose trash is visible.</li><li>Ensure all trash is emptied out of the trailer when dumping a load.</li><li>Provide CSR with each trailer number after the load is dumped and net weight.</li><li>Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.</li><li>Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanic and supervisor immediately.</li><li>Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management.</li><li>Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.</li><li>Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties.
