<h2>Position Summary</h2>The Civil Superintendent is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing all field construction activities related to civil works, including site preparation, foundations, concrete, structural work, utilities, earthworks, and related infrastructure. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards, contract specifications, and regulatory requirements.<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Project Execution &amp; Oversight<ul><li>Supervise daily civil construction activities and ensure alignment with project plans, schedules, and specifications.</li><li>Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site crews to meet project milestones.</li><li>Monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and recommend corrective actions.</li></ul></li><li>Quality &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Enforce adherence to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and codes.</li><li>Conduct regular inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship.</li><li>Maintain proper documentation of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.</li></ul></li><li>Health, Safety &amp; Environment (HSE)<ul><li>Promote and enforce company safety standards and site-specific safety plans.</li><li>Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory guidelines.</li><li>Identify and mitigate potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment.</li></ul></li><li>Team Leadership &amp; Coordination<ul><li>Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to site teams.</li><li>Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical or scheduling conflicts.</li><li>Maintain positive working relationships with clients, inspectors, and subcontractors.</li></ul></li><li>Planning &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Assist in developing short- and long-term construction schedules.</li><li>Track daily manpower, equipment usage, and material deliveries.</li><li>Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.</li></ul></li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).</li><li>Minimum 7+ years of civil construction supervisory experience (heavy civil, commercial, or infrastructure projects).</li><li>Proven track record in managing site activities for projects ranging from $5M–$50M+.</li></ul></li><li>Technical Skills<ul><li>Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and industry standards.</li><li>Proficient in interpreting drawings, blueprints, and specifications.</li><li>Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).</li></ul></li><li>Soft Skills<ul><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project conditions.</li><li>Strong organizational and time-management abilities.</li></ul></li></ul>
