Partnering with global brands to local dairy producers, we integrate supply chain efficiencies and sustainable practices into everything we design and manufacture.About this opportunity The primary purpose is to execute the mechanical maintenance function at VIP Packaging Brendale, as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.Rotating day / afternoon shift roster ( no night shift)The successful applicant is to be an integral part of a small but dynamic team maintaining a range of plastic blow moulding equipment and robotic packaging automation, with scope to learn and grow.Working closely with production personnel and focused on achieving maximum site performance results.Be active in preventative maintenance and be prepared to work a day and afternoon shift roster.Your key responsibilities will be to:<ul><li>Engage in relevant WHS campaigns that actively drive a culture of behavioural safety and preventative safety measures and activities.  </li><li>Maintain quality standards and controls to manufacture and produce packaging solutions that meet customer expectations and requirements</li><li>Ensure that work is carried out in a safe working manner (Take5 &amp; LOTO) and maintaining safe working environments.</li><li>Immediately report instances of near misses or incidents.</li><li>Complete scheduled tasks and mechanical breakdown tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor</li><li>Work independently at times but also as part of a team to achieve the best outcome for the business</li><li>Scope, complete, record and close out work using MEX Works Orders</li><li>Support the production team</li><li>Liaise with Electrical Trades where required</li><li>Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects to achieve improved Safety, Productivity, Quality &amp; Reliability</li><li>Maintain spare parts inventory as required</li><li>A developed safety awareness and ability to work within a strong safety culture</li><li>An analytical ability to fault find and diagnose problems</li><li>Written &amp; verbal communication skills</li><li>Problem solving with a cost-effective solution that maximises production uptime</li><li>Prioritising safety above all else</li><li>Improve machine availability by working with the Maintenance supervisor on Preventative Maintenance programs</li><li>Efficient use of human resources, ie logged vs available hours are maximised</li><li>Continuous improvement in machinery safety and safe working practices</li></ul>Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you’ll have:<ul><li>Prior experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment</li><li>Understanding of “good practice” preventative maintenance strategies</li><li>Hydraulic and Pneumatics experience</li><li>Trades qualified Fitter or equivalent</li></ul>
