Through our relentless pursuit of better, we are decarbonizing our planet at the gigaton level, and bringing the advantages of clean energy to all of us.  ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Principal Engineer is responsible for developing design standards for and technical leadership and technical expertise for complex electrical transmission designs projects for high-voltage Overhead and Underground Projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Defining design requirements to support transmission line design and construction on projects from 34.5kV overhead MV to 500kV.</li><li>Manage and coordination of sub-consultants to support utility crossings for transmission lines.</li><li>New transmission line routing and siting for prospective and pipeline projects.</li><li>Review and engineering submittals from consultants and EORs</li></ul> REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Degree or Advanced Degree in Engineering</li><li>15+ years of experience in transmission line engineering experience in electrical utility industry.</li><li>Extensive experience in PLS-CADD, PLS-CAISSON, PLS-POLE, PLS-SAPS</li><li>Extensive experience in design codes and standards such as: NESC, IEEE, ASCE &amp; ACI.</li><li>Experienced in coordination between substation engineering, Land, Permitting, real estate, and EPC teams.</li><li>Strong Project Management skillset and experience</li><li>Self-starter who can work on multiple projects with various deadlines across the development pipeline.</li><li>Strong ability to communicate with internal Development team and electric utilities.</li></ul> #LI-Remote<div><div><div>Avantus offers competitive compensation with an excellent benefits package, including 401(k) matching; comprehensive medical and dental plan options; and flexible PTO.
