This team is accountable for the engineering functions that enable high levels of performance in equipment reliability and directly support continuous improvement. The Engineer/Engineer Trainee is responsible for planning, evaluating, advising, or reporting on any activity which requires the application of engineering principles in the Bruce Power facilities.Specific Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provides technical evaluations, advice, and solutions to problems in several major work areas including in support of engineering change control, operation and maintenance of Bruce Power facilities.</li><li>Assists the Station Engineering Division by performing analysis and recommends solutions to support continuous improvement in equipment reliability.</li><li>Identifies adverse conditions as well as opportunities in their assigned functional areas and/or programs.</li><li>Prepares risk assessments for emergent conditions leveraging technical data and other supporting information and provides potential solutions including cost justification or financial evaluations as appropriate.</li><li>Keeps abreast of maintenance and operating issues related to their functional areas and takes action to implement solutions when appropriate.</li><li>Escalates concerns when work is not progressing according to program requirements, or when corrective action is required to address potential adverse conditions.</li><li>Works with internal and/or external organizations to support Station Engineering business needs, e.g. WANO/INPO, COG working groups, Maintenance, Operations and Work Management.</li><li>Keeps abreast industry best practices related to their functional area and incorporates changes as appropriate.</li><li>Ensures that documentation associated with their functional area is accurate and updated.</li><li>Provides input to and reviews modifications performed on equipment related to their functional area.</li><li>Participates in training programs to further own development and assists in the development of others.</li><li>Performs other duties as required.</li></ul>Knowledge and Skills:<ul><li>Requires advanced knowledge of processes, equipment and systems and their associated impact on safety, reliability, and performance.</li><li>Capable of identifying process improvements and taking initiative to lead change.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills to prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations.</li><li>Experience with problem solving, business case development, risk assessment and technical evaluations.</li><li>Requires the ability to proactively recognize and take action to manage risks.</li><li>Ability to work across disciplines.</li><li>Previous experience with reliability engineering or asset management is considered as an asset.</li><li>Familiarity with WANO/INPO performance monitoring is considered an asset.</li><li>Experience working with mechanical/electrical equipment or process systems is considered an asset.</li><li>Familiarity with ASME/CSA codes and standards pertaining to design and operation of a nuclear generating station is considered an asset.</li></ul>Education and Experience:Engineer (Occupation Code 670325) <ul><li>Completion of a 4-year University degree in Engineering.</li><li>An Ontario Professional Engineering designation is required (P.Eng).</li><li>A period of over 6 years, up to and including 8 years’ experience is considered necessary to gain this experience.</li></ul>Engineering Trainee (Occupation Code 670207) <ul><li>Completion of a 4-year University degree in Engineering</li><li>Required to obtain a valid Professional Engineers of Ontario certification.</li><li>A period over 2 years, up to and including 4 years of experience is considered necessary.</li></ul>Are you ready for a change?Please complete the online application and attach a cover letter and resume, indicating your education and experience as it relates to this opportunity.
