In this role, you will support the Senior Mechanical Engineer on a number of projects/tasks both in current projects and future plant engineering studies. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that have a tangible impact on sustainability and carbon reduction.  This role is hands-on, providing exposure to a wide range of mechanical equipment, process systems, plant construction &amp; commissioning, as well as prototype lab sized equipment operating experience, in a highly collaborative &amp; innovative environment. The role requires a strong focus on safety, innovation, practicality, and continuous improvement.   Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Design &amp; Development: Create, review, and optimize prototype lab scale equipment, process systems, mechanical equipment, plant layouts, to meet performance, safety, and efficiency standards. </li></ul><ul><li>Project Support: Provide engineering expertise during engineering design, procurement, installation, modification, and troubleshooting of plant systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical interfaces, lighting, etc.). </li></ul><ul><li>Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve mechanical challenges quickly to minimize downtime and improve operational performance. </li></ul><ul><li>Technical Documentation: Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, reports, procedures, and specifications in accordance with company and regulatory standards. </li></ul><ul><li>Collaboration: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution. </li></ul><ul><li>Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance system reliability, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency. </li></ul><ul><li>Compliance &amp; Safety: Ensure all designs and modifications adhere to applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. </li></ul> Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering </li></ul><ul><li>3rd or 4th year Engineer in Training (E.I.T) with a minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy industry, construction or manufacturing operating plant environment </li></ul><ul><li>Registered with APEGA (P.Eng or EIT) </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk) </li></ul><ul><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written </li></ul><ul><li>Resourcefulness and extensive hands-on wrenching experience preferred.  </li></ul> What we offer <ul><li>Competitive salary </li></ul><ul><li>Extended health &amp; dental benefits starting from day 1 </li></ul><ul><li>RRSP match </li></ul><ul><li>3 weeks of paid vacation in addition to 3 days of paid Inclusive-Holidays </li></ul><ul><li>A generous bonus program &amp; stock option </li></ul><ul><li>Hybrid work schedule </li></ul> Please Note: This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Carbon Upcycling Technologies (“CUT”) was formed to use the pollution of today to build the materials of tomorrow by converting CO2 gas into solid products.
