<div><div>Summary:The Conservation Project Coordinator provides essential support to the regional office in advancing the Coastal Conservation League’s mission. This role is responsible for research, monitoring, logistical coordination, and community engagement efforts related to land use, natural resources, and conservation priorities. The Coordinator works closely with the Project Manager, Office Director, and program staff to ensure smooth execution of projects, grassroots advocacy efforts, and public engagement activities. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to learning and growing in the conservation field. Essential Functions:<ul><li>Provide research, monitoring, and tracking support on local government agendas, public notices, permits, and media coverage to identify emerging issues.</li><li>Assist with preparing materials, briefings, and reports for public meetings, hearings, and community events.</li><li>Support grassroots advocacy and community outreach by helping organize events, contacting stakeholders, and mobilizing volunteers.</li><li>Coordinate logistics for coalition and partner meetings, including scheduling, communications, and note-taking.</li><li>Draft and edit outreach materials, fact sheets, and digital content to communicate organizational priorities.</li><li>Assist in maintaining relationships by updating contact lists, tracking community engagement, and following up with leaders, officials, and partners.</li><li>Provide administrative and field support for regional projects, including GrowFood Carolina initiatives.</li><li>Collaborate with Project Managers and program staff on cross-program projects through research, data collection, and logistical support.</li><li>Contribute to Advancement and communications efforts by gathering stories, photos, and updates.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Authorities:<ul><li>Responsible for providing research, logistical, and communications support on assigned projects.</li><li>May represent the Conservation League in a supporting capacity at public events or meetings.</li><li>No supervisory authority; may provide guidance to interns or volunteers.</li></ul> Competencies:<ul><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong research and analytical abilities.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with diverse stakeholders.</li><li>Interest in grassroots organizing and community engagement.</li><li>Commitment to learning about state and local government processes, conservation policy, and advocacy strategies.</li><li>Personal qualities of integrity, accountability, and a commitment to the Coastal Conservation League’s mission and values.</li></ul> Required Education and Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, public policy, communications, or related field.</li><li>0-3 years of experience</li><li>Demonstrated interest in environmental advocacy, policy, or community engagement.</li><li>Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.</li></ul> Preferred Education and Experience:<ul><li>Experience (through internships, coursework, or early career positions) in conservation, advocacy, grassroots organizing, or policy.</li><li>Familiarity with South Carolina’s natural resources, land use issues, or local government processes.</li><li>Experience with event coordination, community outreach, or coalition support.</li><li>Knowledge of or interest in GIS or related mapping tools.</li></ul> Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a professional office environment located within the [North Coast / South Coast / Tri-County] regional office. While the role is based in an office setting, it requires regular travel within the assigned territory to attend public meetings, community events, and site visits. Evening and occasional weekend hours are expected in order to engage with community partners, local government, and other stakeholders. Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and climb stairs.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
