The senior ecologist will support business development efforts and provide expertise in all technical areas within Natural Resources and regulatory coordination.Essential Duties &amp; ResponsibilitiesProject Management<ul><li>Lead and manage projects from planning through completion, ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality expectations are met.</li><li>Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and oversee project execution.</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies regarding project activities and progress.</li></ul>Team Mentorship and Advising<ul><li>Mentor Natural Resource scientists, technicians, project managers, and field personnel.</li><li>Coordinate field crews, assign responsibilities, and ensure proper training and safety protocols are followed.</li><li>Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork within the operations team.</li><li>Train NR personnel on various topics from field procedures to regulatory coordination.</li><li>Advise NR Leadership Team and ES Executive Team on new opportunities.</li></ul>Regulatory Compliance<ul><li>Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including permitting requirements and reporting.</li><li>Stay updated on environmental laws and regulations that affect terrestrial operations and advise project teams accordingly.</li></ul>Client Relations &amp; Business Development<ul><li>Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients and partners.</li><li>Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client meetings.</li><li>Present project results and findings to clients and stakeholders through reports and presentations.</li><li>Attend conferences and present at seminars and trainings.</li><li>Meet with new and existing clients and maintain relationships.</li></ul>Budget &amp; Resource Management<ul><li>Manage project budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.</li><li>Monitor financial performance, track costs, and ensure profitability of projects.</li></ul>RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.</li><li>Experience: 15+ years of experience in project management, fieldwork, or related experience.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience:<ul><li>20+ years of experience in environmental consulting or similar industry.</li><li>Experience with environmental permitting processes and working with regulatory agencies.</li><li>Experience in business development, including proposal writing and client interaction.</li><li>Knowledge of GIS and other environmental data collection software.</li><li>Demonstrated experience managing teams and leading field operations.</li><li>Strong understanding of terrestrial species, threatened &amp; endangered species regulations, and agency coordination.</li></ul></li></ul>Desired Skills:<ul><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot field and operational challenges.</li><li>Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and presentation of environmental data.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.</li><li>Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively across different departments and disciplines.</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.</li></ul>Work EnvironmentThis candidate will need to collaborate effectively with NR leadership.
