Reporting to the Site Controller, this position will oversee the site’s accounting and compliance deliverables, including month-end close, general ledger management, SOX compliance, and audit support. Beyond core accounting responsibilities, the Senior Cost Accountant will serve as a trusted business partner to the site’s operations team and collaborate closely with the Corporate accounting group to ensure strong financial performance and compliance.This position will require 100% on-site presence.Senior Cost Accountant Responsibilities:<ul><li>Month-end closing cycle:</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare, analyze and record timely journal entries with supporting documents.</li><li>Perform reconciliation on key balance sheet accounts to assess validity and accuracy</li><li>Review and analyze general ledger to ensure all financial transactions are in compliance with GAAP and Corporate accounting guidelines.</li><li>Prepare and submit supplemental schedules and reports in One Stream  </li></ul><ul><li>Support the site engineering team with capital projects portfolio from PAR (project approval request) thru creation of fixed assets in the general ledger. Review and analyze the CIP (construction in progress) account on a monthly basis and close out capital projects on a timely manner.</li><li>Partner with the site Inventory and Materials Management team with the ongoing review and analysis of Excess and Obsolete inventory (E&amp;O); make recommendations to optimize site’s inventory goals.</li><li>Manage the site’s quarterly / annual internal control and SOX compliance protocols for the site.</li><li>Maintain an effective internal control environment to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with laws and regulations.
