Position SummaryThe Senior Executive Assistant  – Corporate Affairs, Florida &amp; Midwest - supports the efforts of the Duke Energy Washington, DC office, reporting to the Executive Vice President and CEO, Duke Energy FL &amp; MW and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer providing administrative support; assisting with efficient operations of the department; scheduling meetings; arranging travel; planning and executing department events and external stakeholder events in DC and in the jurisdictions; managing subscriptions and invoicing (processed in accordance with company accounting guidelines and department budget protocol); and coordination with the executive assistant for the Federal Government Affairs, Sustainability and Policy teams and the senior management committee executive assistants.Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide executive-level administrative support to the Executive Vice President and CEO, Duke Energy FL &amp; MW and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, including travel arrangements, scheduling of complex meetings, time reporting and submission of expense management with proper documentation</li><li>Write executive briefs as needed</li><li>Monitor monthly budget reports for variances and ensure accurate reconciliation of expenses</li><li>Provide support, in partnership with the executive assistant for the Federal Government Affairs, Sustainability, and Policy teams, as necessary for Duke Energy executives visiting Washington from corporate headquarters or any of our service territories</li><li>Ensure meeting technology (such as VTC equipment) is available and operational</li><li>Oversee management of department's SharePoint site</li><li>Support planning, and coordination of special events including fundraisers and major meetings</li><li>Provide occasional DC-based administrative support for leaders within the office</li><li>Process and streamline invoices in collaboration with FMW&amp;CA function executive support.</li></ul>Basic/Required Qualifications<ul><li>High School diploma</li><li>In addition to required degree, ten (10) years minimum of related work experience</li></ul> Desired Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree</li><li>Three (3) to five (5) years of executive administrative experience</li><li>Experience writing executive briefs</li><li>Experience working with Microsoft office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint</li><li>Ability to positively and effectively interact and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a professional and culturally diverse workforce as well as with those external to Duke Energy, such as community-based organizational groups, industry-related organizations, government agencies, etc.</li><li>Self-motivated; takes initiative to maintain productivity with minimal oversight</li><li>Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with all levels of organization – inside and outside of Duke Energy</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with integrity</li><li>Thorough knowledge of Duke Energy organization, policies and procedures</li><li>Experience with and thorough understanding of compiling and managing team expense reports</li><li>Experience with reconciling budgets</li><li>A demonstrated initiative with strong problem-solving skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate (both written and oral) in a clear, concise and effective manner</li><li>Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding, and collaborative environment with changing conditions</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>May require flexibility in work hours or locations</li><li>May require some travel- less than 10%</li><li>May be required to work overtime</li><li>Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed in the Washington D.C. office</li></ul>Compensation (annual): $80,000-100,000Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities of role, years of related experience, and internal equity.
