This role includes implementing new features, contributing to system architecture, supporting testing and validation efforts, and ensuring alignment with product requirements and industry standards. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and have opportunities for technical and professional growth within a fast-paced, supportive development environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Software Development: Design, develop, and unit test robust, scalable software components that meet performance and maintainability standards.</li><li>Backend Engineering: Build backend APIs and tools with a focus on scalability, reliability, and long-term support.</li><li>Architecture &amp; Code Quality: Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and system architecture decisions to ensure high-quality software design.</li><li>Agile Collaboration: Work collaboratively with QA, product managers, and fellow engineers in Agile sprints, contributing to planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.</li><li>Mentorship &amp; Peer Review: Participate in peer code reviews and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.</li><li>Documentation: Contribute to technical documentation including specifications, API references, and system design artifacts.</li><li>Cross-Functional Engagement: Engage in internal meetings, customer communications, and industry events to support product development and alignment with stakeholder needs.</li></ul>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelors of Arts (BA) or Science (BA) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, in addition to 3-5+ years of professional or professional-equivalent experience in software development or related roles.TECHNICAL SKILLS:<ul><li>Proficiency in Python, C#/.NET, and TypeScript, with experience developing applications using Angular.</li><li>Strong understanding of HTML/CSS and modern frontend frameworks.</li><li>Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL.</li><li>Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs for scalable backend services.</li><li>Working knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, S3, and RDS.</li><li>Strong skills in troubleshooting, debugging, and performing system-level analysis.</li><li>Proficient in Git and familiar with standard version control workflows and branching strategies.</li></ul>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Exposure to the aviation or aerospace industry</li><li>Agile/Scrum project experience</li><li>Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262) (if applicable)</li><li>Familiarity with DevSecOps practices</li></ul>Salary: 125k - 135k  Salary Range: $82,600.00-$110,100.000Pay TransparencyThe anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
