This role supports safety and process safety management programs in Repsol’s Eagle Ford Unconventionals Asset. The position can be based out of the field office in Three Rivers, TX or the corporate office in The Woodlands, TX with monthly travel to the field required (approximately 1 week per month, residing in field camp housing).This role is ideal for a Safety Specialist with experience in upstream oil &amp; gas operations, particularly in unconventional assets like shale or tight oil.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Facilitation of incident investigation with 5-whys, Tripod Lite, Tripod Beta, identification of causes and recommending corrective measures.</li><li>Assist in classification of process safety incidents according to API RP754, estimation of losses of primary containment.</li><li>Identify Lessons Learned from incident investigations, prepare relevant communication material for sharing lessons across the organization.</li><li>Support S&amp;E processes for Supply Chain, including HSE evaluations of contractors and proposals in tender processes, definition of contract risk, and HSE requirements to be included in contracts. </li><li>Develop and implement process safety management and barrier management programs, including defining Major Accident Hazards (MAH), identifying safety barriers (SECEs, critical tasks/processes), supporting the generation of performance standards, and monitoring the health of the barriers.</li><li>Coordinate risk studies and risk assessments, facilitate PHA studies, HAZOPs, HAZIDs.</li><li>Endorse risk assessments for Management of Change processes, monitor MoC process and follow up KPIs.</li><li>Focal point for Operational Risk Assessment.</li><li>Participate in Asset Reviews/Audits and Quality Assurance/Quality Control events.</li><li>Prepare safety and process safety educational/communication content and training materials.</li><li>Provide safety and process safety training and support to various levels of the organization.</li><li>Perform field assurance functions, such as auditing permit-to-work and safety critical processes.</li></ul>Common tools to be used by this position include: PowerBI, Synergi, Enablon PTW electronic tool, Enablon MoC electronic tool, PHAWorks, ISNetworldMinimum Requirements<ul><li>Legally authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with relevant experience.</li><li>7+ years of experience in a similar role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry, preferably upstream/unconventionals.</li><li>Understanding process safety incident classification, as per API RP754 standard.</li><li>Experience in incident investigation.</li><li>Knowledge of process hazard identification and risk assessment techniques (e.g., HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA), and process safety systems (SIS, ESD, F&amp;G, Blow Down).</li><li>Experience with Process Safety Management Systems and asset integrity/reliability.</li><li>Must maintain a valid driver's license for field travel</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Process Safety certifications</li><li>Incident investigation certifications</li><li>Experience using the following tools: PowerBI, Synergi, Enablon PTW electronic tool, Enablon MoC electronic tool, PHAWorks, ISNetworld</li><li>Preference for bilingual Spanish speaking with intermediate fluency</li></ul> Location: Three Rivers, TX (Field Office) or The Woodlands, TX (US Corp Office); Houston-based candidates should be available to spend 1 week/month in Three Rivers field office.
