In this role, you’ll develop and deploy the control systems that power CCI’s technologies, from early prototypes through to fielded products. You’ll design and implement robust control strategies, build SCADA/HMI interfaces, and integrate industrial networking and communication protocols to ensure reliable system operation. </span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:16px;">Working closely with our electrical, mechanical, and process engineers, you’ll take concepts from whiteboard to commissioning, including programming PLCsystems (with a focus on Beckhoff TwinCAT and IEC 61131-3 standards), troubleshooting hardware/software integration, and supporting system validation. Along the way, you’ll apply modern DevOps practices, contribute to scalable control architectures, and help deliver the automation backbone that enables CCI’s systems to operate safely and effectively. </span></div><br><br><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Design, develop, and deploy industrial software solutions for SCADA, MES, real-time monitoring, and multi-server/multi-client systems, with a focus on Inductive Automation platforms (Ignition preferred). This includes HMI development.</li><li>Implement and maintain modular control system architectures, including integration with industrial automation equipment and cloud-based platforms.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support R&amp;D, product development, and commissioning of new automation systems.</li><li>Configure and troubleshoot IT/OT networking environments, including VLANs, managed switches, virtual machines, and remote access solutions.</li><li>Develop software following DevOps best practices, leveraging version control (GitHub/GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines where applicable.</li><li>Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.</li><li>Program and debug control applications using IEC 61131-3 standards (Structured Text, and more specifically Beckhoff Twincat preferred), applying object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.</li><li>Support commissioning, testing, and deployment of automated equipment and industrial processes, ensuring reliable operation of control loops and communication protocols.</li><li>Contribute to system documentation, including design specifications, network diagrams, and process control narratives.</li><div><br></div></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field.</li><li>3+ years of full-time industry experience with R&amp;D and industrial product development cycles.</li><li>Proficiency with SCADA, MES, real-time monitoring, and historian systems, preferably with Inductive Automation solutions.</li><li>Strong knowledge of DevOps principles, version control (GitHub/GitLab), and modern software development practices.</li><li>Hands-on experience developing for Windows and Linux environments, including both desktop and cloud applications.</li><li>Demonstrated programming skills with IEC 61131-3 languages (Structured Text, and more specifically Beckhoff Twincat preferred), with an emphasis on OOP principles.</li><li>Knowledge of IT/OT systems and networking, including IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, managed switches, RDP, and VM configuration.</li><li>Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, OPC UA, MQTT, ADS, Modbus RTU/TCP, and Profinet.</li><li>Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-disciplinary engineering teams and external partners.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot industrial process control systems, PIDs, and control loops using P&amp;IDs and related documentation.</li></ul><h3>Desired Background</h3><ul><li>Background in designing, commissioning, and deploying automated equipment into production, preferably with an OEM or system integrator.</li><li>Experience with large-scale, multi-site modular control system architectures.</li><li>Exposure to cloud-connected industrial systems and IIoT integrations.</li><li>Hands-on experience building and commissioning electrical control panels and systems</li></ul><br><div>CarbonCapture Inc. is an equal opportunity employer, making all employment decisions based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
