<div>Job Type</div><div>Full-time, Temporary</div><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>Perform routine kitchen duties, including setting up food service areas, assist in meal preparation, meal serving, sanitation, cleanliness of kitchen, and cleanliness of student lounge.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Core responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:</strong> </p><ul><li>Assists with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen to prepare, breakfast, lunch and dinners. </li><li>Prepares and serves according to the kitchen’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.  </li><li>Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.</li><li>Prepares food items for service using different cooking methods. (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces using ovens, gas stoves, griddles, and broilers.)</li><li>Maintains cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring proper storage.</li><li>Assists with cleaning of equipment and facility to ensure all areas are kept clean and in excellent working condition.</li><li>Maintains appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas. </li><li>Restocks and cleans all kitchen service areas e.g., cafeteria, breakfast bar, student kitchenette and vending areas.</li><li>Assists with housing functions as required e.g., cleaning and linen laundry.</li><li>Follows all company policies and procedures. </li><li>Assists with tasks as floater for departments that might need assistance within corporation.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Requirements</p><p><strong>Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience</strong></p><ul><li>A minimum of 1 year of experience in food preparation and facilities cleaning.</li><li>Maintains all required food handling certifications, e.g., Servsafe.</li><li>Must be skilled in preparing a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, dairy, and other food items using knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags.</li><li>Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests. </li><li>Uses proper personnel protective equipment (PPE) appropriately at all times.</li><li>Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. </li><li>Attention to detail.</li><li>Works cooperatively or independently and inspires a team effort with all.</li><li>Must be highly organized and able to work under deadlines. </li><li>Must be able to work safely with minimal supervision.</li><li>Computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.</li><li>Excellent communication skills.</li><li>Treats others with courtesy and respect.</li><li>Well-groomed, presents a positive company image.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Skills and Knowledge</strong></p><ul><li>At least 1 year experience of proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Cook, or Prep Cook.</li><li>Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.</li><li>Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.</li><li>Familiar with industry’s best practices.</li><li>Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, kitchen management software, POS)</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Certification Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Required: High School Diploma or equivalent</li><li>Required: Legal ability to work in the United States.</li><li>Required: Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a pre-employment motor vehicle record check.</li><li>Required: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain a drug-free status. </li><li>Required: Obtain Servsafe certification within 30 days of employment</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>ARI offers an excellent benefits package to all full-time employees, including the following:</p><ul><li>Medical insurance - In the current plan year, ARI offers two types of Anthem PPOs; and the company covers 100% of employee plan premiums for some plans, and up to 69% of dependent plan premiums.</li><li>Dental and vision insurance - Likewise, ARI offers Anthem PPO dental and vision plans.
