This role balances day-to-day office administration, vendor and facilities management, light IT coordination, and reception. </span><span>You’ll</span><span> keep VEIR’s operations efficient</span><span> and </span><span>organized handling everything </span><span>from facilities</span><span> and operational challenges to troubleshoot IT </span><span>requests, ensuring</span><span> our workspace reflects </span><span>and enables </span><span>our fast-moving, innovative culture.</span></span><span> </span></div><div> </div><div><span><span>As part of our </span><span>Operations Team,</span><span> you will also be expected to staff the front desk ~10 hours/week</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></div></div><p><strong>In the first 3 months you'll</strong></p><ul><li>Get fully integrated into VEIR’s organizational structure, key stakeholders, and company culture. </li><li>Develop familiarity with recurring operations issues and partner with the Head of Business Operations, Executive Assistant, and EHS Manager to begin supporting responses  </li><li>Gain exposure to the functions of the Operations team and VEIR’s business plans, technology, and policies and build relationships with VEIR’s key business operations vendors. </li><li>Become familiar with VEIR’s main office and lab facility, including IT and AV equipment. </li><li>Take in IT requests, resolving simple issues and escalating to VEIR’s managed services provider when needed. </li><li>Learn VEIR’s facilities plans, managing incoming facility requests, and escalating to external facilities vendors as appropriate. </li></ul><p><strong>In the first 6 months you'll</strong></p><ul><li>Take ownership of recurring operational and facilities responsibilities for VEIRs main office facility and begin supporting activities related to VEIR’s additional test facility. </li><li>Take ownership of all IT requests with the support of VEIRs managed services provider. </li><li>Own VEIRs office and meeting room set up for key meetings, investor visits, and customer visits. </li><li>Begin identifying and implementing process improvements for facilities and IT. </li><li>Gain confidence in independently responding to operations issues. </li></ul><p><strong>By the end of the first year you will have</strong></p><ul><li>Take complete ownership of VEIRs main office facility, including day-to-day operations.  </li><li>Fully own and manage responses to operations issues across the organization. Pulling in the appropriate internal and external resources, when necessary. </li><li>Deliver improvements to VEIR’s facilities and IT processes, driving operational efficiency. </li><li>Actively contribute to scaling VEIR’s Business Operations organization by developing response strategies, formalizing processes, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. </li></ul><p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p><ul><li>2–4 years of experience in facilities, office management, or business operations, preferably in a startup, lab, or fast-paced technical environment. </li><li>Comfortable troubleshooting common IT issues (laptops, printers, AV systems, network connectivity) and escalating to managed service providers. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, and other collaboration tools is strongly preferred. </li><li>Resourceful and proactive, able to “figure it out” without waiting for direction, while knowing when to escalate. You thrive in dynamic, fast-changing environments. </li><li>Skilled at juggling multiple priorities and projects while maintaining accuracy and follow-through. </li><li>Clear, approachable, and collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills. <p>VEIR&rsquo;s new generation of superconducting electric transmission lines operate with negligible losses at much higher currents than conventional lines and other advanced conductors.
